The butterfly orchid has always been THE QUEEN of houseplants. The shiny flowers resemble the shape of a butterfly and are available in many different colours and sizes.

Some people think the orchid is particularly difficult to care for - but the opposite is true! A little water every 8-10 days and a warm, bright location will ensure months of flowering!

Care tips

Bright, without direct sunlight
18-24 °C
Water every 8-10 days
Fertilise every 4-6 weeks

Butterfly orchids like to be placed in a bright, warm spot without direct sunlight. A location near the window is ideal! All orchids have a transparent pot with holes at the bottom. For watering place your orchid in a basin with lukewarm water for half an hour every 8-10 days and allow the excess water to drain well.

We recommend fertilising every 4-6 weeks during the flowering period to give the orchid the necessary "power". It is best to use special orchid fertiliser for this. With good care, the flowering time is 3-6 months. As soon as the flower stems have turned brown, cut them off at the bottom and put the orchid in a cooler place, e.g. in the bedroom. With a bit of luck, new flower stems will appear again after a few months.

Easy to maintain

Gloss & Shimmer

Nice to know

Did you know that orchids don't like standing next to a bowl of fruit?

Ripening fruit emits ethylene - a natural gas that also causes the beautiful flowers of the butterfly orchid to age more quickly. Therefore, always place your orchid away from the fruit bowl so that you can enjoy the flowers for a long time.
